Woke up @ 6:00'ish to pack for hike to Volcon Las Tres Virgenes. Full pack w/ just 1st aid kit, 164 oz of water, sunscreen, powerbars/fruitbars. Drive to km 41 & pull car off. Start hiking at 7:30'ish. Gnarly hike to base, walk atop lava rocks to that point - but up hand falling - iodine time OUCH! Several encounters w/ teddy bear cacti for both Dan & I. Lost of loose scrambles up & finally to top of secondary knoll. We decide this is as far as we go as it takes 4:40 hrs & time for a snack & snaps before we head down. To my surprise the "ride" down only takes 1 hr (to the base) and another 2 hrs to the car where we enjoy tortillas & cheese + pacifico & fruit drinks. Head back to San Ignacio & change up. Head into town to get some snaps of the mission. Then to Rice & Beans for Margarita & beef enchiladas. BUZZ from beers & then hike up to get some snaps of oasis from hill above Rice & Beans. Nice w/ sunset. Head back into town for a walk & phone call. Return to camp & make a fire (Where's Dina now?!) Decide to hit both Santa Rosalia & Mulege tomorrow. Bon Soir!
