We begin the hike as a group of Four with the addition of Mike D in the morning of Sunday, the 4th of July.

The hike to the Bridal shelter on the side of Canon was not too bad - pretty much a straight shot and with luck, no one claimed occupancy.

A hot and humid day again but the waterfall and coooold pool next to the campsite provided a nice chill.

Mike showed up in the AM, and we bushwhacked up the backside using local trails....bugh - humid and lots of black flies. Finally, switch back after switchback we reach the top of Mittersill; we send Ed & Mike to Canon for some food, they come back with chesseburgers ...... yummmmy! but with +$20 you'd think there'd be more. :-)

We hike down a bit to the old Mittersill ski house. We set up camp and prepare for the Franconia fireworks with our bagful of nips - Salut!
